Origins / history
Islam is a monotheistic religion that originated in Mecca, Saudi Arabia (the Middle East) around 622 C.E. The religion was founded by the Prophet Muhammad born on 570 C.E who was sent to recite the words of god from an angel.
570 CE Muhammad is born
610 CE Muhammad receives his first revelation
622 CE Muhammad goes on a journey from Mecca to Yathrib (commonly known as Hijrah)
630 CE Muhammad visits Mecca and gains many followers
632 CE Muhammad dies and a new caliph rises

- The Mahdi Mahdi is the "the guided one" it is said that he will rule for about seven to nineteen years before the Day of Judgment and will get rid of all evil in the world.
